Villard Avenue Library, located at 3310 W. Villard Avenue, opened in 1968. Originally named North Milwaukee Library after the village in which it was situated, the library was renamed the Villard Avenue Library in 1994.

The centerpiece of Villard Avenue's collection is a thoughtfully developed video library of over 2,300 feature films focusing on the classic cinema of the 1930s and 1940s, together with a selection of popular current videos to appeal to a wide audience of library users. A strong book collection on film, film-making, actors and directors compliments the films. Villard also boasts a collection of books-on-tape, a strong children's collection featuring Preschool Outreach Learning Kits and a well-rounded multicultural young adult collection with popular African-American titles.

"Nestled in the heart of the near northwest side of Milwaukee, Villard Avenue Library serves a richly multicultural neighborhood by providing a wide variety of over 90,000 books, videos, and other multimedia materials."
