| What is Elf?
Elf is a Web site that manages your library loans. It is available
to all Milwaukee County Federated Library System cardholders who would
like to receive notification of when their library materials are due to
be returned and when they are overdue.
Starting in 2009, Library Elf will be moving to a subscription based service. There will still be a basic pre-due email reminder service that is free. For new users, the subscription system started January 1, 2009. For existing users, the subscription system will start January 23, 2009.
If a new user does not subscribe, reminders will automatically be converted to the basic service level. This level is limited to a single card with only email reminders of pre-due and overdue items. This service level is free.
Existing users will be given a grace period of six more notices before having to decide whether to subscribe or not. If you do nothing, your service will automatically convert to the free basic service level. However, if you want to continue the premium service you need to subscribe.
When the subscription system for existing users starts on January 23, you will be given six more premium notices. During that time, you can log into your Elf account and click the subscribe button to subscribe for the year.
