Locating Documents in the Milwaukee Public Library
  • The GPO depository collection is located in the Central Library. Documents from 1996/1997 to date are listed in the library's electronic card catalog, CountyCat.
  • Earlier documents are listed in a card file by Superintendent of Documents Classification Number. The file is located at the Central Library Periodical Desk. (Phone 414-286-3073)
  • The Humanities Department checks for holdings of Congressional Publications, Serial Set volumes, laws and regulations. (Phone 414-286-3061)
  • The Science, Business and Technology Department is a Patent Depository and has information on Patents and Trademarks. (Phone 414-286-3051)
  • Copies of library materials can be ordered for a fee through Ditto, a copy service of the Milwaukee Public Library, which can be reached by phone or fax. (Phone 414-286-3065; Fax 414-286-2126)
