Bay View Kinnickinnic Knitters meet first Wednesday
Wondering why the historic street "Kinnickinnic" is included as part of the name of the local knitting circle? The group meets at Bay View Library which is located on the street with that name, South Kinnickinnic Avenue, and this street is also known as "KK". Both KK and Kinnickinnic have an alliterative quality that reminds one of a sound of clicking knitting needles.
If you want to knit, and enjoy the company of fellow knitters, drop in on the first Wednesday of the month. If you want to know more about Milwaukee street names such as Kinnickinnic, request Milwaukee Streets: The Stories Behind their Names by Carl Baehr.
Come to knit, share ideas, and to socialize with other knitting enthusiasts. Bay View Kinnickinnic Knitters Circle ( also known as the KK Knitters) meets on the first Wednesday of each month 5:30-7:30 PM at Bay View Library. The circle is dedicated to expanding knitting skills. Participants of all experience levels are welcome to bring a project, and tap into the knitting resources the library has to offer.
