Milwaukee Organizations Serving the Hispanic Community

Milwaukee is fortunate to have so many organizations dedicated to serving the city's Hispanic community. Listed below are some of these groups. This list is not in any way comprehensive.

 

Centro Hispano Milwaukee (The Council for the Spanish Speaking, Inc.)

"The Council for the Spanish Speaking, Inc. advocates on behalf of Latinos and the socially and economically challenged. It offers programs in education, housing and human services to improve quality of life for families, children, youth, and the aging; promotes cultural, racial and linguistic understanding; and community planning and development supportive of social and economic equity." Hispanic Chamber of Commerce Wisconsin

"Advocates and promotes the business development and advancement of Hispanic and other small- to mid-sized enterprise businesses and for others through education, advocacy, training, networking, personal empowerment, workforce development and numerous other programs and services." Voces de la Frontera

"We provide direct advocacy to immigrants and family members facing detention/deportation by connecting them to legal resources, helping navigate the system, helping plan for returning to country of origin, transportation and support to immigration court, civil rights training, emergency planning, referral to community services, a peer-led support group and monthly prayer vigils." United Community Center

"To provide programs to Hispanics and near south side residents of all ages in the areas of education, cultural arts, recreation, community development, and health and human services. The UCC assists individuals to achieve their potential by focusing on cultural heritage as a means of strengthening personal development and by promoting high academic standards in all of its educational programs." Latino Entrepreneurial Network of Southeastern Wisconsin, Inc.

"LEN's mission is to bridge individuals, entrepreneurs and microenterprises with resources through strategic alliance formation, networking and sharing of business and financial practices." 

 

League of United Latin American Citizens (LULAC) of Wisconsin

"The Mission of the League of United Latin American Citizens is to advance the economic condition, educational attainment, political influence, health and civil rights of the Hispanic population of the United States."
