Why SYNC? Because they have free audiobook downloads!

By MPL Staff on May 7, 2015 10:50 AM

Daphne du Maurier's classic novel Rebecca, first published in 1938, has never gone out of print, and has been translated into more than a dozen languages. So well loved, this story has been adapted for film, a stage play, an opera; Rebecca has inspired squeals, music, and even wrist watches.

The young heroine, whose first name is never known to us, must cope with what it means to be her husband's second wife. Called "a study in jealousy," we see how the pain of insecurity that accompanies being compared to the previous Mrs. de Winter eats away at her self esteem and may ultimately end her marriage.

Does her husband really love her? Or does his heart still belong to his first wife, Rebecca? Check out our copy or download the audiobook — along with Beautiful Creatures by Kami Garcia and Margaret Stohl — for free from SYNC. "SYNC is a program that gives away two complete audiobook downloads — a current Young Adult title paired thematically with a Classic or Required Summer Reading title."
