The National Archives released 1950 Census Schedules on April 1, 2022. The census includes an artificial intelligence/optical character recognition name index that helps researchers find free genealogical information on family members and famous people. This information is kept confidential for 72 years following each decennial census.

Dr. Cameron was the only known survivor of a lynching that took place in 1930 in Marion, Indiana. Learn more about him and his pamphlet collection housed at the Milwaukee Public Library.

The Locust Library was renamed the Martin Luther King Library in 1973. In 2014, MPL began the process of replacing the dated M.L. King Branch. Moody Nolan has been selected to design the new library, which holds an expected completion in 2023.
