1930 Census Enumeration Districts
There is no index to the 1930 census for Wisconsin. For Milwaukee, the census researcher must get an address and locate the enumeration district. All Milwaukee codes start with "40." "40" stands for Milwaukee county. "40-38" would be Milwaukee county enumeration district 38.
Though it only includes large cities, this site is designed to assist 1930 Census users in identifying Milwaukee enumeration districts. One catch is that a single street might have more than one enumeration district. With a city map or the 1930 street address change book, cross streets may be identified so that users can determine the exact enumeration district. To find EDs outside of the city of Milwaukee, use NARA's Researching 1930 Census Information site.
