BadgerLink Databases
BadgerLink is a program funded by the state of Wisconsin to bring library resources to all state residents. Included in this program are: magazines and journals through EBSCOhost and newspapers from across the U.S. and around the world provided by ProQuest. Both links lead to full articles you can read on your computer screen. Also available through BadgerLink are: the African-American Biographical Database, which is excellent for finding information on a wide range of people; LitFinder, a full-text poetry, short story and essay database; WISCAT, a listing of material held in libraries throughout Wisconsin; and TeachingBooks, a multimedia introduction to the world of children's literature for teachers, parents, and librarians alike. To access TeachingBooks, please follow the account creation instructions, beginning with "Sign In" on the upper righthand corner of their homepage. Basic Facts (Online Edition)
From the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction, this site contains links for financial as well as other data and information about Wisconsin's school districts. Among the data found here are the School Performance Reports for all Wisconsin School Districts, including Milwaukee, for the 1998-99 and 1999-00 school years. Statistics include information on attendance, graduation, dropouts, ACT and much more. Arrangement is by school district and then school.

This collaborative project aims to bring together the digital collections of various Wisconsin cultural institutions. Wisconsin Marine Historical Society
For over 35 years, the Society has been devoted to discovering, collecting, recording and preserving materials related to Great Lakes maritime history. The WMHS maintains the Great Lakes Marine Collection, an important repository of Great Lakes historical materials, which contains information on over 52,500 ships. The Great Lakes Marine Collection is housed at the Milwaukee Public Library (MPL).
Wisconsin Name Index
Obituaries, personal sketches, and other short biographies of Wisconsinites are indexed in this resource from the Wisconsin Historical Society. The Society will provide full-text copies from the sources cited for a fee. Many of the sources cited for the obituary or sketch may be available at the Milwaukee Public Library.

Created by the WI Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection, the Wisconsin No Call List documents residential telephone numbers of Wisconsin residents who do not want to be contacted by telemarketers. Wisconsin's Water Library
The UW Water Resources Library in partnership with UW-Madison Libraries and the Wisconsin Academy of Sciences, Arts and Letters has created Wisconsin's Water Library to assist those participating in Year of Water activities who want to learn more about water issues. The Water Library is a collection of almost 30,000 volumes of water-related information plus links to additional sources on the Web. Because Governor Doyle has declared 2003 as the Year of Water , any Wisconsin citizen can check books out of the Water Library. Just search the collection or browse the suggested reading lists. You can request up to five items. Library staff will mail them to you free of charge for a loan period of four weeks. You are responsible for returning the materials. You can mail them back or return them to your local public library.
