READ to Rover and Words With Whiskers
Provided in cooperation with the Wisconsin Humane Society.


Have fun, make a new friend, and improve your reading!  Students in grades 1-5 read to a registered therapy cat (Whiskers) or dog (Rover) for 25 minutes each week for four weeks. Children may bring in their own reading materials or select materials at the library. Readers who attend at least four sessions receive a certificate of accomplishment and a small gift upon completion. A completed registration form with parental signature is required.

*Special Read to Rover session - parents must complete permission slip for children to participate. Slips for special sessions can be signed at the library with a children's librarian in advance or the day of.

Print out this online version of the application and the consent form from the Wisconsin Humane Society and return to any Milwaukee Public Library and return with your registration form. Registration is limited.
