Rabbit: Cross your hands at the wrists, palms facing away from each other.
Extend your index and middle fingers of each hand (fingers kept together)
and quickly bend the fingers twice, like a rabbit’s ears twitching.
Play Time
Animal riddles are good for times when you are waiting for things to
happen (such as being called into the doctor’s office). Try
these:
I eat grass. I say moo. What
am I?
I gallop. I trot. My hooves
go clip, clop. What am I?
I have feathers.
I peck and peck.
I say cluck, cluck.
What am I? |
| Little Rabbit
I saw a little rabbit go hop, hop, hop.
(hop in place)
I saw his long ears go flop, flop, flop.
(“flop” hands over head)
I saw his little eyes go wink, wink, wink.
(blink eyes)
I saw his little nose go twink, twink, twink.
(wiggle nose)
I said, “Little Rabbit, won’t you stay?”
(make beckoning motion)
He looked at me and…hopped away!
(hop quickly)
Five Rabbits
Five rabbits were hiding
(clenched fist)
In the woods one day.
1-2-3-4-5 jumped out
(fingers come out as they count)
And then they ran away.
(imitate running with fingers.)
I Caught A Hare
One, Two, Three, Four, Five
(hold up one hand, count fingers)
I caught a hare alive
(close fist)
Six, Seven, Eight, Nine, Ten
(count fingers on other hand)
I let it go again. |
Roll and Clap
Roll your hands so slowly,
as slowly as can be;
Roll your hands so slowly,
And fold your arms like me.
Roll your hands so quickly,
As quickly as can be;
Roll your hands so quickly,
And fold your arms like me.
Clap your hands so softly,
As softly as can be,
Clap your hands so softly,
And fold your arms like me.
Clap your hands so smartly,
As smartly as can be;
Clap your hands so smartly,
And fold your arms like me.
During the Spring
During
the Spring, it often showers
(flutter fingers down)
Or the sun
shines for many hours
(form circle in the air with arms)
Both are
good for the flowers!
(cup each hand and extend arms like flowers) |
