Tour
the Children's Area
One hour. Grade 3 and up. All locations.
Your group will be greeted by the librarian, given a tour of the
children's area and learn about basic book-browsing skills. Students
will have time to explore on their own. An optional library scavenger
hunt can be included.
Book
Talk
One hour. Grade 3 and up. All locations.
Introduce your students to some of the best books at Milwaukee Public
Library. A librarian will talk about great books such as mysteries,
award winners, or a topic you are currently studying. Students then
will have time to look at the books and many others.
Techno
Time
One hour. Grade 3 and up. Central Library Betty Brinn Children's
Room and select neighborhood libraries.
Milwaukee Public Library is the place to connect with computers. The
visit begins with a 20-minute presentation followed by hands-on use
of the computers. Choose from one of these programs: "How to use
and search the library catalog" or "How to search the Internet
efficiently"
Lunch
at the Library
Central Library Betty Brinn Children's Room only.
A private eating area adjoining the children's room in the Central
Library can be reserved for groups wishing to bring lunch.
Stories
and Fun
One hour. Kindergarten through grade 2. All locations.
A librarian will present a 30-minute interactive story time. Students
also will have time to explore the children's areas. Computer use is
available at some locations. |
