Awards Online
This website provides news, book awards and reviews of books that
receive recognition from literary peers. Sources are drawn from cyberspace,
hard copy literature and literary networks.
Adult Book Club Kits
East Library is the originator of the library Book Club Kits which
are available for checkout through the library's online catalog. Each
kit contains paperback copies of the chosen title, a discussion guide
which includes information about the author, suggestions for discussion
questions, and ideas for starting a book club.
Children's Book
Club Kits
Children Book Club Kits were designed for use in home,
classroom, or library book discussion groups. These Kits are currently
housed at Atkinson Library, but they may be reserved for pick up
at any public library in Milwaukee County. Each kit contains paperback
copies of the chosen title, a discussion guide which includes information
about the author and discussion questions, a “how to use this Kit” sheet
and some kits include a DVD movie version of the book.
Book Clubs for Adults
Various neighborhood library locations offer book clubs for adults.
There also is an online book club for adults, MKE Reads.
Downloadable Audio Books
Downloadable audio books are digital books the library is making available through a service called OverDrive. These talking books are available via a computer to those with home computers, MP3 players and laptops.

Milwaukee Public Library adds thousands of titles to its collection every month.
The new design of the Milwaukee County Federated Library System's online catalog
provides a search option to discover newly acquired materials.

netLibrary
This permanent collection of over 8,000 netLibrary titles is available on-line to City of Milwaukee residents with their Milwaukee Public Library card, or by accessing the netLibrary site from a computer within any Milwaukee Public Library. The Milwaukee County Federated Library System pays for this subscription.
