Summer Book Buddy Volunteer

As a teen volunteer (ages 13-18), you can read aloud to children or listen to children read and assist library staff with all kinds of cool youth programs.

Responsibilities
  • Read aloud to children.
  • Assist staff in conducting weekly children's programs such as arts and crafts, puzzles and games, book bingo, etc.
Requirements
  • 13-18 years old. (Parental permission required if under age 18)
  • Consent portion of Volunteer Application signed by parent or guardian before starting the assignment.
  • A friendly manner and a strong commitment to working with children.
  • Book Buddies are asked to make a minimum commitment of volunteering 2-3 hours a day, 1 day a week for at least 4 weeks during the summer.
  • Ability to get along with a diverse group of children.
