Volunteer at the Library

As a teen volunteer (ages 13-18), you can read aloud to children or listen to children read and assist library staff with all kinds of cool youth programs.

• Read aloud to children.
• Assist staff in conducting weekly children's programs such as arts and crafts, puzzles and games, book bingo, etc.

• 13-18 years old. (Parental permission required if under age 18)
• Consent portion of Volunteer Application signed by parent or guardian before starting the assignment.
• A friendly manner and a strong commitment to working with children.
• Book Buddies are asked to make a minimum commitment of volunteering 2-3 hours a day, 1 day a week for at least 4 weeks during the summer.
• Ability to get along with a diverse group of children.

• Program operates mid June through mid August
• Applications accepted April 15 through June 30.
• Available at Central library and all neighborhood libraries

4. Your completed application will be reviewed, and if there are any possible matches with currently available volunteer opportunities, we will contact you.  You may also be asked to participate in an in-person interview.
