Borchert Field: Stories from Milwaukee's Legendary Ballpark with Author Bob Buege at Tippecanoe

Tuesday, June 20, 2017 - 6:30 PM to 7:30 PM

Categories: Author/Storyteller

Ty Cobb, Babe Ruth, Satchel Paige, Jackie Robinson-these great athletes and many more all crossed the same, legendary home plate in Milwaukee, Wis., Borchert Field. Though Milwaukee's "field of dreams" is long gone, every page of Baseball historian Bob Buege's Borchert Field: Stories from Milwaukee's Legendary Ballpark  will transport readers back to the "glory days" of baseball-between 1888 and 1952-and help them relive the sights, sounds, and spectacle of Borchert Field in its heyday. Bob Buege is the author of the Milwaukee Braves: A Baseball Eulogy and coauthor of Eddie Matthews and the National Pastime. He is president of the Milwaukee Braves Historical Association, Secretary of the Wisconsin Old-Time ballplayers association, and Society for American Baseball Research member.

Location: Tippecanoe Library Community Room
