Do you have a unique perspective on the world? Have you ever tried to use Poetry, Spoken Word, or Visual Arts to share your ideas with others? Whether you're already an experienced artist or you're just interested in giving it a try, stop by Studio M for an opportunity to express yourself through creation. We'll have artists on hand to help, and all the Studio M equipment available for you to use. Make a piece of digital art or record your spoken word, then post it or send it to friends! Refreshments will be served and each participant will receive two complimentary tickets to a First Stage production. Inspired by First Stage's production of BIG RIVER - THE ADVENTURES OF HUCKLEBERRY FINN, based on Mark Twain's celebrated novel Adventures of Huckleberry Finn. Twain's timeless classic comes alive at First Stage in this coming-of-age musical, adapted from the award-winning Broadway musical for family audiences. In the story, Huck, a young white teenager, helps his friend Jim, a slave, escape to freedom and reunite with his family. Their shared journey of discovery along the Mississippi River proves that friendship comes in many different forms. Each participant will receive two complimentary tickets to BIG RIVER, running March 15 to April 14 at the Todd Wehr Theater in the Marcus Center for the Performing Arts.
