This collection spans six decades and concentrates on Wisconsin-based companies. With a few exceptions, the index lists publically traded companies that were either headquartered in Wisconsin or were subsidiaries of other out-of-state companies.
These reports provide an interesting perspective to the culture and history of a company with information not readily found elsewhere. The collection can also assist a researcher in tracing the origins of a company as well as provide valuable insight into its management and operations. In some cases there are reports spanning several decades for such companies as Northwestern Mutual Life Insurance Company and Allis Chalmers.
The Business and Technology Desk also has a collection of company annual reports on microfiche. They include all companies traded on the New York, American and NASDAQ exchanges. They span from 1980 to 1998. If you are interested in viewing materials from the Wisconsin Historic Annual Reports Collection or from the microfiche collection, please visit the Business and Technology Department on the second floor of Central Library.
