Doors Open Milwaukee at Central

Saturday, September 24, 2022 - 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM

Audience: Adults/ Children/ Older Adults

Central Library features guided tours on the half hour of the former Museum Offices and self-guided tours of the Chinese Room, Old Board Room, Children's Room, and Art Gallery. Green Roof tours are offered from 1-3 p.m. Enjoy the original composition Short Stories, composed by Brian Packham, performed by members of the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra, and inspired by Central Library, until 1 p.m. Outside features include A Beam of Sun to Shake the Sky by Richard Taylor (located at the Wells Street entrance), Untitled (Late Bloomer) by Virginia Overton (located on 9th Street just south of Wells Street), and The Poetry Path (several installations around the Central Library and Milwaukee Public Museum).
