Discovery Lunches @ Zablocki Library at Zablocki

Inspiration starts here! Discovery Lunches are one-hour programs that let you explore and connect with fellow learners on your journey to discovery at the Milwaukee Public Library.  A light lunch is provided. The Early Social Justice Movement In Wisconsin: The 1960s were troubling times for African Americans in Milwaukee and Wisconsin. Reverend Joseph Baring discusses these times and examines the  Civil Rights Movement and the passage of the Fair Housing Act. Before being called to church ministry, Reverend Baring served as a Navy seaman in Vietnam, an ironworker, and a civil rights leader. He was previously the pastor at St. Paul's AME in Madison.
